Efforts to reduce carbon dioxide emissions are of the utmost importance

So says Svante Fielding, new CEO of SMA Mineral since 1 September. “SMA Mineral has the sincerest ambition to achieve development that is sustainable and profitable. It’s truly inspiring.”

Svante has 20 years’ leadership experience from different industries, cultures and countries.

He has previously worked for such companies as Rolls-Royce Marine and Caterpillar Propulsion. His choosing to become CEO of SMA Mineral at the age of 55 has a great deal to do with the company’s owner and former CEO.

“Daniel Juvél and I are in clear agreement on how the company should be driven forward,” he explains. I’m not here to manage the status quo; there is a sincere willingness and the muscle to bring about change. It’s truly inspiring.”

Sustainability efforts with lofty ambitions

Svante’s mission is clear: to lead the development of SMA Mineral to become a sustainable, pioneering company. The overall objective is sustainable, profitable long-term development.

“The most urgent work concerns carbon dioxide emissions,” he says. Sustainability is top priority and an issue we apply ourselves to constantly at every level and in every part of our business.

Svante tells us SMA Mineral is making major investments and running several projects in this area.

“Today things are urgent in a way they haven’t been before. It not only concerns the company’s survival, but also the planet’s.”
