Loukolampi lime works was established in the 1920s and was acquired by SMA Mineral in 2000. Following a fire in 2005, the lime works was rebuilt and is today Finland’s most modern plant.
Loukolampi produces crushed and milled products for agriculture, animal feed, horticultural peat, asphalt, water treatment, flue gas scrubbing and the construction industry. The raw material comes from two places: the dolomite comes from Ankele 20 kilometres away and the limestone is from Röyttä.
