Fair Transport is the transport industry’s sustainability certification of road freight transport and is our response to increased expectations from the outside world on our operations.
SMA Mineral has decided to continue production at Röyttä, Finland
The re-construction of the site Röyttä that was planned during the pause in production will still take place and is planned during regular maintenance work in the coming years.
It was in the beginning of March SMA Mineral announced to halt production at the site in Röyttä. After intensive effort and work to find alternative solutions, we are now very pleased to announce this work has paid off and resulted in a the decision to continue production at our site in Torneå.
This is the result of intensive and constructive dialogues with our customers, suppliers and internally with our employees. We are thankful to all who participated in this process. Our aim is to deliver lime products to our customers and doing so with the best cost-effective and sustainable solution in mind.
The re-construction of the site Röyttä that was planned during the pause in production will still take place and is planned during regular maintenance work in the coming years.
Röyttä will continue to produce lime for the steel- and mining industry as well as for pulp- and paper industry in Finland and Sweden.
