Calcium carbonate contains the element calcium. Feed that is grown on a farm, such as cereals and cattle feed, is generally not sufficient to provide for all of an animal’s calcium requirements.
Their high calcium and magnesium content make calcium carbonate and dolomite important components in animal feed. Calcium carbonate is used in both vitamins and premixes.
