SMA Mineral - A world full of lime

Calcined Dolomite

Calcined Dolomite, calcium magnesium oxide (CaMg(O)2)

Production

Just like quicklime, dolomite can be further processed by burning. At very high temperatures, dolomite decomposes into calcium oxide (CaO) and magnesium oxide (MgO), while carbon dioxide (CO2) is released.

Applications

Calcined dolomite is used in several industries and for various technical and chemical applications.

In steel production, both slaked lime and calcined dolomite are used to form slag and protect the steel from oxidation. The process also collects harmful impurities for the steel in the slag.

Calcined dolomite also protects the refractory linings in the steel furnace, converter, and ladle furnace.

Calcined dolomite in various fractions can, like quicklime, also be used in the construction and civil engineering industries, agriculture, and water treatment.

Our products

Quicklime

Quicklime is the most common term for burnt limestone, calcium oxide (CaO).

Calcined Dolomite

Calcined Dolomite, calcium magnesium oxide (CaMg(O)2)

Slaked Lime

Slaked lime, calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2), is formed when quicklime reacts with water.

Quicklime and Cement

Lime mixed with cement is used in construction and building contexts to enhance the properties of the material.

Limestone

Limestone is a carbonate rock of organic origin formed from the shell remains of marine animals.

Crushed Aggregate

Crushed Aggregate is crushed stone in various fractions.

Quartz

Quartz (SiO2) is a fine-grained metamorphic rock transformed from sandstone.

Dolomite

Dolomite is the name of a carbonate rock that consists of the mineral dolomite.

The sustainability report gives us guidelines for the future
