On Thursday, June 13, SMA Mineral’s management met with representatives of the Norwegian Parliament and presented our and eFuels producer Infinium’s joint project in Mo i Rana in northern Norway. Among those present from the Parliament was the leader of the Committee for Energy and the Environment.
Earlier this spring, SMA Mineral and Infinium reached an agreement that will promote the development of the companies’ planned projects in Mo Industripark. The collaboration involves a joint factory for the production of carbon-neutral quicklime and synthetic aviation fuel with extremely low carbon intensity.
During the meeting with the Parliament, the need for electrical power in the planned factory was conveyed. We also emphasized that the project will not only contribute to reduced carbon emissions but also to positioning Mo i Rana as a strategic hub for industries striving for a more sustainable world. Our collaboration with Infinium is a good example of how industry collaboration can contribute to technical innovation and long-term sustainable solutions.
