Site presentation – Dalarna

East of Lake Siljan, in the heart of Dalarna, there are four SMA Minerals facilities: Boda Lime Plant, Kullbergs Lime Plant, Rättvik Lime Plant, and Jutjärn Limestone Quarry. We have been operating here since 1986, always with a focus on quality at every step.

Jutjärn Limestone Quarry is over 80 meters deep, and the limestone was formed approximately 443 million years ago. High-quality limestone is extracted here and then transported to our lime plants in Boda and Rättvik.

At Boda, the limestone is burned, and there is also a briquetting facility. In Rättvik, burned lime, dolomite, and slaked lime are produced, while Kullbergs Lime Plant focuses on lime for soil stabilization and flue gas cleaning.
