Rättvik lime works in Sweden was established in the 1950s and was acquired by SMA Mineral in the 1980s. After being mothballed for a period, the works was reopened and production of quicklime products resumed for 15 years. A slaked lime plant was also added.
Rättvik lime works produces quicklime, burned dolomite and slaked lime, as well as ground stabilisation products. The raw material comes from Jutjärn limestone quarry, which also supplies Boda lime works.
